Kenneth Todd, Jr.

Kenneth Leonard Todd, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, October 2, 2013. He was 86.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Rev. Hays McKay officiating and Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The Hackers Golf Group will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Harbor Church Building Fund, 320 North Foster Street, Dothan, AL 36301, or the charity of your choice.

Mr. Todd was born July 5, 1927 in Cottonwood, Alabama to Kathryn Pinkston Todd and K.L. Todd, Sr. He served in the Navy during WWII. He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University). While at Auburn, he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau social fraternity as well as Pi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He was a general contractor in Cottonwood, Alabama for over 30 years. Mr. Todd was on the Board of Directors of Houston Academy for many years and was a member of the Dothan-Houston County Rotary Club and the Hackers Golf Group at the Dothan Country Club.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ida Newton Todd; as well as two sons, Mancil Newton Todd and Dr. K.L. Todd, III (Jennifer) of Dothan; and one daughter, Valli Todd Cathpole (Tim) of Aiken, SC. He is also survived by three grandsons, Matthew Catchpole, Kell Todd and Jackson Todd, and five granddaughters, Lacey Todd, Kayla Todd, Kelli Todd, Caroline Catchpole and Caroline Cundith.
