KIMBERLY  SHULER  MADDOX


HEADLAND…Kimberly Shuler Maddox, a resident of Headland, died early Thursday afternoon, June 20, 2013, at her home. She was 52.


            Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 22, 2013, in the First Baptist Church of Abbeville with Reverend Winston Jay officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, NP 2505, 1720 2nd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35294-3300.


            Kimberly Maddox was reared in Blountstown, Florida, and was a graduate of Blountstown High School. She later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State University. Kim formerly served as a Social Worker for the Houston County Health Department and the Alfred Saliba Family Services Center. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ-Latter Day Saints, and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, both in Dothan. Kim lived in Abbeville and Dothan before moving to Headland in 2003. Kim was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and a true humanitarian. She was truly beloved. Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Moroni Shuler, Jr. and Johnnie Elizabeth Davis.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, John Mark Maddox, Headland; four daughters, Hollie Hutchison Andrews, Teryn Hutchison Bendinger, (Ben), all of Dothan; Sage Lauren Hutchison, and Madison Shelley Maddox, both of Headland; a granddaughter, Baye Kimberly Bendinger; three sisters, Roni Sue Seymore, Perry, GA; Dawyn Dumas, Atlanta; and Summerann Miller, Jackson, MS; four brothers, Stephen Craig Shuler; John Patrick Shuler; Albert Moroni Shuler, III, all of Bristol, FL; and Sandy Ray Shuler, Newberry, SC; mother-in-law, Sharon Shelley Maddox, Abbeville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Maddox and Shuler families; numerous nieces and nephews.
