            Lanette Walker Daniel, a resident of Newville, went to be with the Lord, Friday afternoon, August 28, 2015, in a Dothan hospital. She was 76.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 30, 2015, in the Clopton United Methodist Church with Reverend Kenneth Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the funeral services in the Clopton Community House. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


            Ms. Daniel was born and reared in the Clopton community of Dale County, daughter of the late Cary Walker and Edna Sanders Walker. She was a graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark and attended Troy University. Ms. Daniel lived most of her lifetime in Clopton before moving to Newville in 2005. She attended Full Gospel Churches. Ms. Daniel formerly owned and operated Lanette’s Arts & Crafts and her creative talent was loved and appreciated by many people.


            Surviving relatives include three daughters, Lucy Daniel Smith (Huey), Monroe, LA; Ann Daniel Perkins (Mark), Ozark; and Jill Daniel, Skipperville; and a great-grandson, Kdyn Williams who Lanette was raising as her own; two brothers, Estus Walker (Pat), Ozark; and Larry Walker, Chattanooga, TN; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Smith, Johnny Smith, Alanna Smith, Aaron Johnson (Erika), Jennifer Johnson, Christopher Senn (Andrea), and Ashley Senn; twelve other great-grandchildren.
