MIDLAND CITY. . .Lee Walker Beasley, a resident of Midland City, died late Tuesday night, July 15, 2014, at his home. He was 96.


            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 17, 2014, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Troy Walsingham officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to The Christian Lighthouse, 1307 Travis Road, Dothan, AL 36301.


            Mr. Beasley was born and reared in Montgomery, son of the late Frank Asbury Beasley and Annie Arant Beasley. He lived in Montgomery before moving to Midland City in 1981. Mr. Beasley was a member of the Open Acres Baptist Church in Montgomery. He was retired as a typewriter repairman with the G.C. Land Company, and was formerly employed by Royal Typewriter. Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Meek Beasley.


            Surviving relatives include a sister-in-law, Frances Woodham, Napier Field; several nieces and nephews including, Betty Strickland, Midland City; several great-nieces and great-nephews including, Charlene Strickland, a great-great-niece, Scarlett Kay Bain.
