LEOLA  BIRGE  HARRISON



COLUMBIA…Leola Birge Harrison, a resident of Columbia, died Monday afternoon, January 14, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. She was 91.


            Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, in the Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, near Cottonwood, with Reverend Don Tew officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.


            Mrs. Harrison was born in Jackson County, Florida, daughter of the late Early Moses Birge and Nancy Jane Toole Birge. She lived in Dothan before moving to Columbia in 1974. Mrs. Harrison was a retired employee of Warner Brothers of Dothan. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, Arlander Harrison, a grandson, Corey Lee Harrison, and three sisters and a brother.


            Surviving relatives include three daughters, Linda Faith Edmondson (James); Phyllis Adkinson; and Wylline Waters, all of Columbia; three sons, Early Joe Harrison, Perry, FL; Jeremiah Harrison; and Lander Lee Harrison, both of Columbia; seven sisters, Florine Curran, Nell Cole, Geraldine Branton, Evelyn Fuller, Carolyn Evans, Belinda Williams, and Louise Lane; four brothers, Harold Birge, Eugene Birge, Lonnie Birge, and Walter Birge; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
