DOTHAN. . .Lewey Frank Parmer, a resident of Dothan, formerly of Midland City, died Sunday morning, December 18, 2016, in Wesley Place on Honeysuckle. He was 93.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Paul Edenfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Baptist Church Cemetery in Blue Springs. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.

                        Mr. Parmer was born and reared in Barbour County, near Blue Springs, son of the late John Remus Parmer and Willie Mae Knight Parmer.  He lived in the Dothan area since 1957 and was retired from E. W. Twitchell, Inc. as a machine operator after many years employment. After retirement, Mr. Parmer worked at Food World. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Walker Parmer, a son, Jerry F. Parmer, three sisters, Codine Parmer, Gertrude Sellers and Charity Helms, and a brother, William Parmer.

            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Rita Bost (Bob), Hendersonville, NC; and Laura Deshazo (Donnie), Dothan; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Parmer Woodham,  Headland; a son, Chris Parmer (Heather), Midland City; a brother, Joseph Parmer, Columbus, GA; eight grandchildren, Lynne Parmer, Wayne Parmer (Connie), Dustin Deshazo (Jeri), Blake Deshazo (Alaina), Hillary Parmer, Kala Minor, Amber Minor, and Jeremy Amburgey; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews including a nephew, James Fuqua, Phenix City; special friend, Mildred Smith, Pinckard.

            Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Deshazo, Blake Deshazo, Austin Parmer, Wayne Parmer, Ryan Parmer, Josh Harper, and Jeremy Amburgey.
