LILLIAN  MATTHEWS  WEED

 

MIDLAND CITY . . . Lillian Matthews Weed, a resident of Midland City, died Saturday night, May 4, 2013. She was 85.

            Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in the Midland City Cemetery with Reverend Mike Griggs officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Magnolia Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Glenda Woodham, 1544 County Road 519, Headland, AL 36345.

            Mrs. Weed was born and reared in Coffee County, daughter of the late Hubert Matthews and Estelle Grooms Matthews. She lived in Elba before moving to Midland City in 1962. Mrs. Weed was a member of the Magnolia Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Weed, Jr., and a son, Kenneth E. Weed.

            Surviving relatives include her son, Phillip Weed and wife, Diane, Midland City; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
