Mrs. Lily McCormick Spears of Darlington passed away Friday, March 1, 2013. She was 85

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2013 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Wesley Hall and Rev. Woodie Dupree officiating. Burial will follow in Limestone Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Geneva.

Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Spears was born October 11, 1927 in Darlington, FL. to Walt and Ruth Holman McCormick. She was a lifelong resident of Darlington. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mrs. Spears was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Perry Lee Spears; her sons, Clayborn Spears and Jimmy Spears; her grandson, Michael Cook; her siblings, Lila Evans, Lolie Brackin, Lillian McMillan, and William McCormick.

Mrs. Spears is survived by her two daughters, Mary Dupree and her husband Woodie, Lida Pert and her husband Flynn; one son, John Spears and his wife Patsy, all of Darlington; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Colby Cook, Austin Garrett, Brandon Garrett, Tyler Garrett, Justin Cook, and Daniel Spears.
