Linda Jeanne Steele of Enterprise passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.  She was 67.

The family will receive friends at Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.  A memorial service and interment will be held in Indiana at a later date.

Mrs. Steele was born October 17, 1947 in Crawfordsville, IN to the late Clifford and Thelma Thompson Arnett.  A devoted military wife and mother, she worked in various states as a librarian, a dental assistant, and in civil service before retiring as a history and Spanish teacher.   Flowers will be accepted, or contributions may be made to Compassion That Compels, 3433 Highway 190, Mandeville, LA 70471 or to The American Cancer Society, c/o Linda Andress, PO Box 310900, Enterprise, AL 36331.

In addition to her parents, her brother, James Arnett preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Steele of Enterprise; 2 daughters: Rebecca Ivey and Jennifer Hoffman (Stephan), both of Enterprise; 4 grandchildren: Jordan and Jaden Ivey, Adrian and Ryan Hoffman; many nieces and nephews.
