Linda Maxine Knight left this world to join her heavenly Father on February 4, 2014, at her home in Ashford, Alabama, with her family at her side. She was 71 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, February 7, 2014, at Enterprise Baptist Church with Dr. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Ashford City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
Linda was born December 31, 1942 to the late Reuben and Hazel Gresham. She met and married her husband of 47 years the late Bernard Taft (Buddy) Knight on March 16, 1963. Her greatest joy came from the love she had for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Linda enjoyed activities such as volunteering at the Columbia Baptist Association watching Atlanta Braves Baseball, Alabama Football, fishing, and cooking for her family. She will always be cherished and remembered for her quiet, kind, and gentle spirit.
Linda was an active member of Enterprise Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed her Church family. She was also active in the Eastern Star Chapter #519 of Ashford.
Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her children, Don (Wendy) Knight, Tammy (Tracy) Adams, Teresa (Jason) Harper, grandchildren DeAnna Welch, Chelsea Adams, Courtney Adams, Abbey Knight, Jeffery Kelly, and Matthew Harper; brother Jackie (Shelia) Gresham; brother-in-law, Chuck Knight, sister-in-law Mary Knight, and several nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Knight, daughter, Tonya Mercer, parents, Reuben and Hazel Gresham, brother, Bobby (Evelyn) Gresham, grandchildren, Brandon, John Kasey and Katie Knight.
Pallbearers will be Don Knight, Danny Prevatt, Bobby Sowell, Johnny Windham, Nathan Worshem, and Wallace Odom.
