Louie Don Fortune Jr., 39, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at his home in Enterprise, AL.


He was born on July 18, 1977 in Geneva, Alabama; he was the only son of the late Louie Don Fortune Sr. and Constance Josephine Cooper of Noma, Florida.  He grew up in Holmes County, Florida where he attended Holmes County High School in Bonifay, Florida and received a certificate as a Nursing Assistant from the Northwest Florida Technical College in Chipley, Florida.


Louie was a remarkable gardener who enjoyed fishing and working on anything mechanical.  In disposition he was meek, modest, amiable and affectionate.  His sense of humor and genial attitude made it easy for people to immediately like him.  Louie was a kind, gentle giant with a heart of gold.


He was of Jehovah’s Witness faith and most of all loving faithful husband to Jacey Ralston Fortune who preceded him in death.


He is survived by his two children, son, Louie Don Fortune III and daughter Megan Alyssa Fortune; three sisters, Candace Cain of Phenix City, Alabama, Donna Richard of Panama City, Florida and Natalie Jones of Enterprise, Alabama; three nephews, Steven Singletary of Panama City, Florida, Seth Singletary of Panama City, Florida and Nathan Dillingham of Enterprise, Alabama; one niece, Madison Dillingham of Enterprise, Alabama; and many other relatives and friend.


Mr. Fortune was cremated, following his wishes.
