Lucille Virginia Glass

Lucille Virginia Glass, a resident of Dothan died Thursday night, December 4, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 83.

 Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Van Gauthe officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery (Pansey) with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

 Mrs. Glass was born December 5, 1930 in Houston County where she lived most of her life. She enjoyed gardening and baking cakes and was a volunteer at Flowers Hospital. Mrs. Glass was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active with her Sunday School Class, the Senior Choir and Sunshine Fellowship.

 She is predeceased by her husband, Foy T. Glass, two sisters, Lanelle Welk and Sharon Perigo and a brother, Ronnie Summers.

 Survivors include three children, Elnore Ethridge (Ray), Cherie Atkinson (Martin), all of Dothan and Keenan Glass of Smith Station; five grandchildren, Wade Ethridge (Brandi), Kendra Hagler (Norman), Justin Boyd (Lauren) Hannah Rejmenczak (Mike), Garrett Glass (Jill); six great-grandchildren, Hardy, Hank and Ranah Kate Ethridge and Brooke Hagler, Cullen Boyd and Gracie Rae Glass; two sisters, Joyce Daniels (Vlady) and Patricia McNally (Greg); three brothers, Curtis Summers (Lucy), Jerry Summers (Kichi) and  Jimmy Summers; several nieces and nephews.

 Serving as active pallbearers will be Wade Ethridge, Justin Boyd, Garrett Glass, Norman Hagler, Mike Rejmenczak, Vlady Daniels.

 Honorary pallbearers will be Hardy and Hank Ethridge.
