Lunnie Floyd Holton, 80, of Dothan passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at a local hospital.


Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday, November 23, 2012 at Sunset Funeral home with Rev. Scott Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.


Mr. Holton was born October 3, 1932 in Dale County and was a lifelong resident of Newton. He was employed with Army Fleet Support for over 56 years until his death. During his long career he rose to the #2 seniority position with Army Fleet Support. He loved to sing and play the guitar. Mr. Holton was preceded in death by his parents, Gillis and Pearl Holton, his first wife and the mother of his children, Mary Lou Holton, and a daughter Mary Sue Smith.


Survivors include his wife Mary Holton; a son Wayne (Diane) Holton; daughters, Patricia (Danny Holland) York, Barbara Glover, Lanelle (Fred) Davis, and Donna (Kevin) Browning; step-daughters, Gracie (Joey) Lynn and Elizabeth (Charles) Mathis; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; 4 step grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren.
