Mack Donaldson of the Curtis Community in Elba, AL went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Flowers Hospital.  He was 79.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 2 at New Ebenezer Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Doster and Reverend Travis Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5-7 pm.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Curtis Cemetery Fund, c/o Foster Bane, 1255 CR 400, Elba, AL 36323.

Mr. Donaldson was born June 27, 1935 in the Curtis Community to the late William Franklin and Jessie Lee Clark Donaldson.  He enjoyed his carpentry and farming occupations and the many friends he made during his involvement with farming organizations including Coffee County Farmers Federation, Alabama Peanut Producers and Coffee County and Alabama Cattlemen’s Associations.  He was a lifelong member and deacon of New Ebenezer Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Buck Donaldson, and a sister Mary Ella Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Donaldson, Elba; daughters: Lynn Ellis (Max), Troy, AL, Roxie Doster (Larry), Enterprise, AL; grandchildren: Caleb Doster (Meredith), Auburn, AL, Joseph Colvin (Shelane), Maryville, TN, Daniel Doster (fiancée Kaylee Whaley), Auburn, AL, Walt Ellis (Morgan), Dothan, AL, Katie Smith (Eric), Troy, AL; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Frankie Farris (Dawson), Elba, Syble Henderson, Elba, Linda Newman (Cyril), Banks, AL; sister-in-law, Sara Donaldson, Enterprise; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
