Our sweet Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Friend and gardener extraordinaire Malcolm Virginia Smith Reeves passed away on April 18, 2016 surrounded by those who loved her and the gracious spirit of the Lord.

Mother is survived by her children Ginger Reeves Webster (Dan), Judy Reeves Ross (Eddie), Toby Reeves and all their children who loved and spoiled her greatly, Natalie McGough (Wayne) - Emma Raines, Tucker, Finley and Wyatt; Emilie Smith (Whit) - Lee, Brant, Mac, and Wy; Meghann Reeves - Madison and Jaxson; Elizabeth Anne Reeves - Adam.

Virginia is preceded in death by her father and mother, Malcolm and Virgie Smith of Pensacola, Florida and a wealth of friends and relatives, as well as her beloved dogs, Allie and Spunky, who now surround her in her Heavenly home. A glorious reunion for sure.

Originally from Northport, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida, Virginia moved to Dothan, Alabama in 1955 and resided there until moving to Abbeville, Alabama in 2000. An avid gardener and entertainer, Virginia was known for her beautiful flowers, parties and gatherings. Her home was a haven for friends and her door was open to those who wished to gather and be comforted by her laughter and friendship. Many wonderful memories were made sitting in the pink house sipping coffee and expounding upon the joys of the world and the beauty that God had placed around her.

We will always remember her vibrant spirit and her heart for others. She loved life and people gravitated to her loving heart. We invite family, friends, and loved ones to celebrate and remember her with us on Thursday, April 21, at 1:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 205 Holly Lane in Dothan, Alabama. A reception and visitation will follow in the Old Fellowship Hall.

Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home, (334) 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements. Please call us or visit www.SunsetMemorialPark.com for more information.
