Mrs. Mamie Jewel Deane Harden, age 84,  a resident of Dothan, died Thursday October 3, 2013 at Extendicare Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. 


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday October 8, 2013 at the Harper's Joy Assembly of God Church with the Reverend's Eddie Littlefield, Thomas Harrison, Jerry Harden and David Boyd officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing. 


The family will be receiving friends at the church from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to service.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to your local Teen Challenge, Gideons, or to Fire Bibles. 


Mrs. Harden was born on February 21, 1929 in Pelham, Ga. the daughter of James Robert Deane, Sr. and Donnie Mae Chason Deane.  She was a member of the Harper's Joy Assembly of God Church and founder of Helping Hands Ministries in Kosciusko, Ms. She was a graduate of  Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, FL. Mrs. Harden was a devoted Pastors wife of George E. Harden. She loved singing, painting, crafts, her family and helping others.   


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rev. George Everette Harden; brothers, James R. Deane, Jr. and Donald R. Deane; daughter-in-law, Lynn Pierson Harden 


Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Rev. David Boyd, McComb, Ms.; son, Kenneth Harden, Hoover, AL.; two sisters, Francis Goodwin, Warrior, AL. and Linda Pursser, Largo, FL.; two brothers, Paul Deane, Clearwater, FL.; David Dean, Cleveland, AL.; 5 grandchildren, Lindsey and Jeremy Bates , Alan and Evan Harden, Brian, Eric and Kim Boyd; 6 great-grandchildren, Maddie Bates, Taylor, Dalena, Brody, and Khloe Boyd, Gavin Davis; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of friends; a special roommate Mrs. Agnes Kirkland and all her Extendicare family. 


Pallbearers will be: Donald Harden, Sammy Sizemore, Jimmy Lewis, John Lewis, Robert Floyd and Johnny Dixon.
