Margaret Stokes Lindsey, 95 passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in the Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2016 in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church near Ft. Gaines with Rev. Mike Hartley and Rev. Randy Stokes officiating and interment to follow in the church cemetery.


 Mrs. Lindsey was born on November 16, 1920 in Henry Co. AL the daughter of the late Henry Grady and Bessie Lee Smith Stokes. She was a retired Clay County school bus driver for 35 years and a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Ernest Roswell Lindsey, her son; Roswell Keith Lindsey and a brother; Grady Ray Stokes.


 Survivors include a granddaughter; Karlene Lindsey Hinthorne of Heyworth, IL, a grandson; Ronald Keith (Ronnie) Lindsey, 5 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.


 The family will receive friends at the home of Margaret Lindsey, 771 Cottonhill Rd. Ft. Gaines and at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at 657 Matt Rd. Cuthbert, GA 39840 or the American Heart Association at 302 Highland Ave. Cuthbert, GA 39840.
