COWARTS…Margie Pearson Morrell, a resident of Cowarts, died early Wednesday evening, December 16, 2015, at her home. She was 59.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 19, 2015, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with a son-in-law, Pastor Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:30 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Mrs. Morrell was born in Donalsonville, Georgia, daughter of the late Houston Pearson and Margaret Johnson Pearson. She was reared in Webb, Alabama and lived in Dothan before moving to Cowarts in 2011. She was preceded in death by two nieces, Sherry Moseley and Nicole Bentley, two nephews, Anthony Mims and James Ray “Little Ray” Kelley, her mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Morrell and a brother-in-law, Billy R. Davis.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, Jack Morrell, Cowarts; four daughters, Jackie Morrell, Cowarts; Christy Johnson (Jason) and Heather Scott (Joseph), all of Daleville; and Melanie Martin (Jeremy), Webb; three sisters, Janice Meirhoffer (Rick), Panama City, FL; Carolyn Evans (Nathan), Dothan; Joyce Tiffin (Jim), Midland City; a brother, Richard Pearson, Midland City; eight grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ciarra, Jordan, Elyse, Eliyah, Braxton, Jadyn, and Michael; a great-granddaughter, Addison; several sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

            Margie was a kind, compassionate, and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She loved and cared for all that knew her. Margie was devoted to her family and poured her life into raising her children, and was devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ. She was loved by everyone and influenced many lives.
