Marian Wood

Marian G. Wood, a resident of Daleville, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Enterprise Health & Rehab at the age of 100.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Daleville United Methodist Church with Rev. John McCullough officiating and Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Saturday morning.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Daleville United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Wood was born February 22, 1913 in Burr Oak, Iowa and was raised on the family farm. She went to High school in Decorah, Iowa and was a governess for young children. She married Frank A. Wood in 1935 and they moved to Chicago where they lived most of their lives until retiring to Naples, FL. They moved to Daleville in 2001. Mrs. Wood volunteered as a pink lady at the hospital in Naples. She enjoyed playing golf and she was always involved with the church. She was a member of Daleville United Methodist Church.

She is predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Wood.

Survivors include her son, William Wood (Julee) of Level Plains; her daughter, Patricia Ann Poorman (Duane) of Naples, FL; five grandchildren, Saeah Lee Wood, Samantha Elizabeth Wood, Liam Frank Wood, Jesse Joseph Poorman, and Frank Allen Poorman; and several nieces and nephews.
