MARIE  GERTRUDE  HARSTEDT

 

 

WEBB…Marie Gertrude Harstedt of Webb, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014. She was 88. 

             She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and blessed grandmother and great-grandmother. Marie was born and raised in the Wilkes-Barre area of Pennsylvania. She later moved to Leonia, NJ, where she met her beloved husband of 65 years, Harold. They established their home in Englewood, NJ, where their daughter Marilyn Morris was born and raised. The majority of her years were spent in this home. 

             Marie was an excellent baker, avid reader, talented gardener and was an extremely hard worker. She was an extremely generous, sweet, and caring person, and her faith in the Lord was unwavering. She will surely be missed. 

             Marie is predeceased by her husband, Harold. Surviving relatives include her brother, Leonard Woelber (Eleanor) of Hunlock Creek, PA; daughter, Marilyn Morris of Webb; granddaughter, Anna Long (Kevin) also of Webb, and great-grandchildren John, Ellie, Alex, Emmie, and JamieKate Long.  

             Visitation will be Thursday, May 15 at 10 a.m. at the Holman-Headland Mortuary, and funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be Saturday, May 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. 

            The family has requested for flowers to be omitted and memorial contributions be made to Wiregrass Hope Group of Dothan.
