Marie Ryder, 70, a resident of Dothan passed away following a long illness, Thursday November 17, 2016 at a local hospital.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday November 19, 2016 at 1:00 pm at St. Columba Chapel with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.


Mrs. Ryder was born on November 30, 1945 in Portland, Maine and lived there the early years of her life. She was a homemaker and graduated from Portland High School and moved to Dothan in 2008. Mrs. Ryder was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Columba Catholic Church. Many called Marie “Re-Re”, she loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in this world. Her husband, Charles Ryder Sr., was her best friend and her pillar of strength.


Mrs. Ryder was preceded in death by her son, Michael Ridge, her brothers, Johnny Nally and Eddie Nally, and by her nephew, James Maloney.


Survivors include her husband, Charles Ryder, Sr; her son, Charles Ryder, Jr; her grandchildren, Shane Ridge, Colby Ridge, Celeste Ryder and Tyler Ryder; her sister, Nancy Nally; her nieces, Janel Maloney and Lori LeClair; and her canine companion, Molly.
