Mark Allen Smith, 69 of Dothan, AL passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 in Dothan, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Reverends Ray Jones and Tim Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 3 P.M. Sunday, August 28, 2016, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund.

Mr. Smith was born December 7, 1946 son of the late Jack and Marian Smith of Dothan. A 1965 graduate of Dothan High School, a 1969 Auburn engineering graduate, and received his Master of Business Administration degree from Troy University. Mark retired from AAA Cooper Transportation. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Azalea Club and he served in the Alabama Air National Guard. Mr. Smith was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he was very devoted to his church and church family. In his spare time, he was an avid tennis player, participated and enjoyed socializing with his tennis teammates. He was a loving, patient, giving and devoted Christian husband, father, brother, son-in-law and grandfather to six wonderful grandchildren

Surviving relatives include wife Cynthia Shelton Smith, daughter, Allison Smith Davis (Skip) of  Mountain Brook; son Scott Allen Smith (Jaclyn) of Oak Mountain, mother-in-law Melvina Shelton of Dothan; one brother Ronald Smith (Wanda) of Dothan; sister-in-law Cheryl Shelton Thomas (George), , grandchildren Ian and Anna Claire Davis, Madison, Kathryn, Betsy, and Jack Smith, special nieces and nephews include Jason Smith (Tamara), Amy Bunting, Lorri Speigner (Webb) and Leisha Hayes (Brooks).
