EUFAULA. . .Mary A. (Tiny) Smith Culpepper, loving wife, mother and grandmother, a resident of Eufaula, died Saturday morning, May 21, 2016, in Noland Hospital, in Dothan. She was 84.

            Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church, between Abbeville and Eufaula, with Reverend Ralph Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Abbeville.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Dolly Vickers, 204 Dothan Road, Abbeville, AL 36310.

            Mrs. Culpepper was born and reared in Barbour County, daughter of the late Jesse William (Dock) Smith and Mary Elizabeth Corbitt Smith. She lived in Eufaula most of her adult lifetime where she was formerly employed by State Farm Insurance and Big Dollar. Mrs. Culpepper was a member of the Pilgrim’s Rest Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Missildine and Lillie Gilmore, and two brothers, Sheriff Robert Smith and L.A. Smith.

            Surviving relatives include her husband of sixty-seven years, Reverend Clarence L. Culpepper, a daughter, Dianne Poole (Roy), Dothan; four grandchildren, Charity Benefield (J.P. Taylor), Chrisalyn  Brown (Ronald), Heather Purswell (Larry), and Brent Poole (Amanda Bedsole): eight great-grandchildren, Zachary Benefield, Shelby Anderson, Keaton Sasser, Kailee Anderson, Andrew Benefield, McKenzie Sasser, Joely Purswell and Hayden Purswell; two sisters, Myrtice Graham (Ray), Prattville; and Marjorie Mock (Billy), Eufaula; and a sister-in-law, Maggie Smith Crisco.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Brent Poole, Zachary Benefield, Andrew Benefield, Keaton Sasser, Ronald Brown, J.P. Taylor and Larry Purswell.
