Mary Evelyn Crook, a longtime resident of the St. Paul Community near Hartford, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 in Hartford Health Care. She was 98.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Red Coleman, Rev. Dicky McAllister, and Rev. Jay Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Monday, November 4, 2013 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford. Mrs. Crook will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hartford Retirement Village.

She was preceded in death by her parents, H.M. and Catherine Wright; her husband, Levoy Crook; one sister, Ludie Glen Fulford-Owens.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth (Carolyn) Crook of Prattville; two brothers, Henry (Rochelle) Wright and Bennett (Ann) Wright of Samson; one sister, Kathernell (Hank) Hagler of Huntsville; numerous nieces and nephews.
