Mary “Vicki” Gooding Brooks of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at her residence.  She was 93.

 

Graveside funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Maxwell Cemetery in Albertson, North Carolina.  Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise is in charge of arrangements.

 

Mrs. Brooks was born July 4, 1921, in Pink Hill, North Carolina, to the late William Rufus and Ermie Garde Maxwell Gooding.  She served as a registered nurse in the United States Army, during which time she met the love of her life, a wounded soldier, David Brooks.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Brooks, one brother, and one sister.

 

Survivors include three sons: David Brooks (Bonnie Kemp) of Apex, North Carolina; Bill Brooks (Jo) of Enterprise, Alabama, and Ken Brooks (Vickie) of Enterprise, Alabama; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
