Mary Ida Register Elliott of Geneva passed away at a Dothan Hospital on Thursday, March 24, 2016.  She was 86.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Scott Cox officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Westside United Methodist Church, 1000 W. Maple Ave., Geneva, AL 36340, or to Bay Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 1721 S. Bay Springs Rd., Dothan, AL 36305.

Mrs. Elliott was born in Geneva County on March 11, 1930, to the late Sidney Curtis and Carrie Lou Register.  She was a longtime member of Westside United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harvey Elliott; two sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Carey and husband, Terry, of Dothan; grandson, Elliott Carey of Birmingham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
