Mary Josephine Shehee of the Sellersville Community passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016.  She was 91.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the Samson First United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Craddock and Rev. Donnie Earles officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. 

Mrs. Shehee was born in Samson, AL on June 14, 1925, to the late John F. Jones and Margaret Stephenson Jones.  She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.   In 1954 she graduated from Troy State University, where she received her teaching degree.  Mrs. Shehee taught at Samson Elementary School for thirty-five years.   After her retirement she served as a substitute teacher and taught adult education.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Shehee; daughter, Mary Charles “Charlie” Pijanowski; brother, William Jones; and her sister, Caron Yarbrough. 

She is survived by her son, Michael Shehee (Marilyn) of Vidalia, GA; four grandchildren, Brad Roberts of Slocomb, Ryan Roberts (Genevieve) of Ottawa, Ontario, Lindsay Fretts (Travis) of Dothan and Charlsie Mobley (Page) of Vidalia, GA; four great-grandchildren, Lillian and Hadley Fretts of Dothan, and Brooke and Baylor Mobley of Vidalia, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
