GRIMES…Mary Spence Steele, a resident of Grimes, died late Tuesday night, September 29, 2015, in Enterprise. She was 80.


            Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 2, 2015, in the Grimes United Methodist Church with Gentiva Hospice Chaplain Dr. Chris Adams and Reverend Brandon Bures officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Holman-Headland Mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted.


            Mrs. Steele, daughter of the late Corbit Spence and Nezzie Pittman Spence, was a native of Augusta, Georgia. She formerly lived in Panama City and had lived in Grimes for the past thirty-eight years. She was a member of the Grimes United Methodist Church and had been employed at the Multi-Community Senior Center in Midland City. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Steele, three sisters, and two brothers.


            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Laresa Snow (Chris), Enterprise; Linda Lou Cobb (Larry Joe), Dothan; two sons, Larry A. Livingston (Jackie), Grimes; James Denny Steele (Jane), Abbeville; four brothers, Thomas M. Spence (Lavenia) and David Spence (Janice), all of Panama City, FL; Edward Spence (Dot), Greenville, SC; Sammy Spence (Myrtice), Panama City, FL; seven grandchildren, Hunter Snow, Rachel Steele, Brannon Livingston, Crystal Shelley (Roy), Shawn Cobb, DeAnna Cobb, and Jason Steele (Katie); eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
