HEADLAND. . .Mary Vee Brannon Faison passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at the home of her daughter after an extended illness She was 93.

            Mrs. Faison lived in the Blackwood Community, near Headland, since 1941 and was a member of the Blackwood Church since then.

            She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Faison, a son, Roger Faison, sisters, Doris White and Dorothy Herriage, brothers, Lloyd Brannon and Idas Brannon, and her parents, Arizona Brannon and Dora Satcher Brannon.

            She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Morales (Chuck), Headland; and Lynn Dahle (Gordon), Ozark; grandchildren, Angie Love, John Faison, Sherrye Ottenbaker, Samone Kilpatrick, Philip Bridges, Derek Faison, Sara Morales and Doug Phillips; several great and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Linda Floyd; a sister-in-law, Thelma Faison, brothers-in-law, Lucius Faison and David Herriage.

            Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Friday, July 29, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Phil Collins, Brother Bill Smith and Reverend Danny Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwood Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00 P.M Friday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be John Faison, Philip Bridges, Derek Faison, Doug Phillips, Alex Faison, Connor Faison, Gordon Dahle and Joey Floyd.

            In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial contributions be made to Covenant Care Hospice, 1512 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.

            The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Covenant Care Hospice for the kind and caring way they took care of “Mama Vee”. To a very special niece, Linda Floyd, who went above and beyond to help with care of her “Aunt Vee” and to caregiver, Erica Coleman, for her many hours of wonderful care to her “Ms. Mary”.
