Mattie Mae Chamblee of Kinston, Ala. passed away Friday, December 12, 2014.  She was 87.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Chuck Myers officiating.  Burial will follow in Weeks Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.


Mrs. Chamblee was born in Geneva County, Ala. on June 25, 1927 to the late J.D. and Etta Hill Robertson.  She was a member of Lime Springs United Methodist Church.  Prior to her retirement she worked at Franklin Ferguson Co. Inc. in Florala for many years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Chamblee; daughter, Charlotte Chamblee; three sisters; and three brothers.


She is survived by two sons, Harold Chamblee (Therisa) and Roy Chamblee (Aggie); three daughters, Juanita Colley (Ronnie), all of Kinston, Lanett Landingham (Gerald) of Samson, and Carolyn Sue Morris of Kinston; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two brothers, Eddie Robertson (Inez) of Kinston, Jerry Robertson of Samson; three sisters, Red Hudson (Charlie) of Elba; Myrtle Mullens, and Martha Vandegrift, all of Samson; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
