Mrs. Mavis Miller Kirkland, age 78, of Dothan passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014.

 

Born December 13, 1935 in Port St. Joe, Florida to the late Doyle Jackson and Millieann Alice Curry Miller, Mrs. Kirkland was a member of Berean Baptist Church. She retired from Globe Motors and loved collecting and enjoyed her flowers.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Charlotte Ann Kirkland and Brenda Gayle Kirkland; and three brothers, Daniel J. Miller, Hubert Miller and Dalton Miller.

 

Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, Perry M. Kirkland; her daughter, Delores Jean (Joe) Howard; her grandchildren, Christopher Arnold, Jon Howard, Cathy Moore, Joseph Howard, and Beverly Denson; her great-grandchildren, Cayla, Steven, Allison, Addison, Lambert, John David, and Brittany; three great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Montez Pitts, Myrtle (Lanas) Fox, Margaret Ann (Melvin) Harvey, and MaryAnn (Cleve) Givens.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, June 20, 2014 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Raymond Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Jackson County, Florida with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Friday, June 20, 2014 from 1 PM until service time.

 

The family will be accepting flowers.
