Max Earl Skinner, of Ozark, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 75.


Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel in Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. James Adam Mulliner officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. 


Max was born January 17, 1942 in Enterprise to David and Bama Skinner.  When he was eighteen years old, he met and married Doris Ellen Scroggins and together, they had five children; Max Stuart Skinner, Laura Plentis (Walt), Nancy Foss (Bruce), Tara Jackson (Freddy), and Tammy Hutto (Paul).  Later, he married the love of his life, Janet Ward and together, they raised her sons, Robert and Kenneth Ward, both deceased.  When Janet passed away five years ago, Max lost his best friend.  Max was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist.  He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his dogs.  He will be missed by many.


Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his wives; his parents; and two brothers, Billy and Johnny Ray Skinner.


He is survived by his loving sister, Doris Lee.  He has thirteen grandchildren that have wonderful memories of special times spent with him.  He also has twenty eight great-grandchildren that he loved.
