Mr. Max Roger Hughes of Panama City Beach, Florida, formerly of Coffee Springs, Alabama passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015.  He was 68.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Dave Hingson officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.


Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice.


Mr. Hughes was born September 15, 1946, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Emmitt Thad and Annie Corine Barnes Hughes.  He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents two brothers: Charles Wyatt Hughes and L.E. Hughes, as well as a sister, Thadine Hughes Roberts, all preceded him in death.


Survivors include five brothers and sisters: Bobby Joe (Julia Kate) Hughes of Dothan, Georges Barnes (Doris) Hughes of Coffee Springs, Gail (Phillip) Harvey of Panama City Beach, FL, Ben Paul Hughes of Geneva and Emily Ann (Steve) Brock of Irvington, AL; several special nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
