Mrs. Merle Wise of State Hwy 87, Samson, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015.  She was 80.

A private graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Piney Grove Assembly of God Cemetery with Rev. Sam Totten officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.

Mrs. Wise was born January 3, 1935, in Henderson, Texas to the late Mitchell Mason and Karl Baxley Crumpler.  She was a 1953 graduate of Enterprise High School and later received her LPN nursing degree from LBW.  After 28 years of service she retired from Wiregrass Medical Center.  She enjoyed attending the First Baptist Church in Samson and considered it her home church.  She was very devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially all the outdoor activities.  Mrs. Wise dearly loved her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, her husband, H.E. “Dinky” Wise preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Gary) Wiginton and Shannon (Mike) Gillis all of Samson; one son, David Wise of Enterprise; five grandchildren: Chad (April) Wiginton, Sierra (Jack) Price, Amanda Wise (Ty) Rushing, Chris Gillis and Hannah Gillis; one sister, Billie Gilmore of Enterprise; other extended family and friends.
