Michael Brennan New, age 53, passed away suddenly at his home in Malvern Saturday, November 2, 2013.  Born February 6, 1960, he was predeceased by his father, Harry B. New, Sr. and both sets of grandparents, James and Marie Brennan of Dothan and Benjamin and Leila New of Tuscaloosa.  Survivors include his wife Robbie New of Malvern, his mother Mickey B. New of Smith’s Grove KY, his sister Marie New Gunderman (Sam) of Yorktown, VA, brother Harry B. New, Jr. of USVI,  his niece Bonnie M. Bridges of Yorktown, VA, his nephew James B. New of Dallas, TX , his stepmom, Sue New, mother and father-in-law, Lucille and Billy Flowers, Wilson, NC and several nieces and nephews,  and his beloved German Shepard, Iasha.  Michael graduated Wallace Community College as a certified Welder in 1978 and joined the US Navy in 1979.  He served two years and then returned to Dothan where he was self-employed as a paint contractor for the last 32 years.   Michael was a kind and caring man and had a deep love for animals, especially dogs.  Michael will be missed very much by all that knew him.  Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday, November 5, 2013. The family will also receive friends and family one hour prior to the service from 10-11 A.M. Funeral services will be held at 11AM in the chapel at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, 2414 Hartford Hwy. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.  Ward-Wilson is in charge of the arrangements.
