TUMBLETON COMMUNITY…Mickey Shelley, a resident of the Tumbleton Community, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at his home. He was 53.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 6, 2015, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Headland Police Chaplain, Reverend Tim McCraney officiating, and a eulogy to be given by Headland Chief of Police, Mark Jones. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, Alabama 36302.
Mickey Shelley was born and reared in the Tumbleton Community of Henry County. He was retired as Chief of Police from the Abbeville Police Department. Mickey was currently self-employed as a Software Programmer. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Shelley, his mother, Ila Baker Shelley, and a sister, Linda Jean Spencer.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Morgan Shelley, Cottonwood; three sons, Michael Shelley (Lyndsee) Merryville, Louisiana; Christopher Shelley, Mobile, AL; and Carson Shelley, Cottonwood; a sister, Brenda McCullough, Columbia; a brother, Ray Shelley (Brenda), Ozark; four grandchildren, Kristen Shelley, Kialee Shelley, Kenli Shelley and Kennedy Shelley.
