Obituary:  Mildred M. Griffin

 

 

            Mrs. Mildred M. Griffin, of Athens, Alabama, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 in Athens. She was 78.


            Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in the Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Enterprise with Reverend Leon Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 until 8 pm.


            Mrs. Griffin was born March 30, 1936 in Enterprise to the late Willie Calvin and Lilly Mae Abercrombie Stephenson. In addition to her parents, a son, Clarence Edward Grant preceded her in death.


            Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Larry W. Griffin, Athens, AL; children; Tim Griffin, William Bruce Grant, Judy Carol Chestnut, Mark Grant, Deborah Lynn Prince and Anita Faye Sullivant, sister: Mattie Grace Walker, brother, Clarence Stephenson, numerous grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
