Minnie Ruth Calhoun Clements

Minnie Ruth Calhoun Clements, a resident of Birmingham, passed into her eternal home on Friday, February 13, 2015.  She was 86.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend Mark Brackin officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing.

Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, P O Box 434, Trussville, AL  35173.

Mrs. Clements was born June 3, 1928 in Houston County and lived in Dothan until 1962.  She was a resident of Birmingham for the past 50 years.  She retired from Sears after working 30 years in retail sales.  She served as team mom on several of her children’s various athletic teams.

Mrs. Clements was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, James L. Clements.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Harold (Judy) Clements, Trussville, AL, Mike (Jane) Clements, Homewood, AL, Pat (Lauren) Clements, Remlap, AL, Lee (Cathy) Clements, St. Simons Island, GA, and a daughter, Robin C. Shears, Hoover, AL.  Her pride and joy were her eight grandchildren:  Jaime (Wes) Jackson, Sam (Kristy) Clements, Mary Clements, Daniel (Rebekah) Clements, Katie Clements, Harry Clements, Ruth Ann Clements, and Noah Shears.  The sparkle in her eye came from her three great-grandchildren:  Riley Jackson, Brody Jackson and Colby Jackson.
