Miss Merline Wise of Samson, Alabama passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015.  She was 89.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Donnie Earles officiating.  Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, May 22, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m.

Miss Wise was born May 1, 1926, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Carl W. and Myrtis Parrish Wise.  Her favorite pastime was fishing and working in her garden.  She was very devoted to her family and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, two brothers: James R. and Harold E. “Dinky” Wise preceded her in death.

Survivors include one brother, Collis O. “Buddy” Wise and wife Cathy; two sisters-in-law: Ruth and Merle Wise all of Samson; six nieces and nephews: Jimmy Wise, Rita Bonds, Janie Rials, Lisa Wiginton, David Wise and Shannon Gillis; several special great nieces and nephew, other extended family and friends.
