Mollie Bess Gibson, 91, a resident of Dothan passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at her residence.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.


Mollie was born January 12, 1925 in Dale County and lived the early part of her life in Echo. For the past 30 years she has been a resident of Dothan. She was a homemaker and loved to talk on the phone. She also loved playing Domino’s and Bunker Board with her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to Rose Hill Senior Citizens Center, traveling and playing Bingo, playing the harmonica at Landmark Park and making quilts.


Survivors include her sons, Wade Gibson and Leon Gibson; daughters, Luegene (Alvie) Parker, Joyce Lee, Mollie Gail Welch, Faye Clark, and Catherine Williams; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
