WEBB. . .Morgan Larry Snellgrove, a resident of Webb, died Sunday morning, May 3, 2015, at his home. He was 76.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Mike Shirah and Reverend Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Baptist Church Cemetery, near Webb. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary.


            Mr. Snellgrove was born and reared in the Mt. Ararat community in Webb, son of the late Lemmie Weeden Snellgrove and Elsie Zadie Smith Snellgrove. He lived in the Center community of Houston County before returning to Webb in 2007. Mr. Snellgrove was a member of the Center Baptist Church and attended Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. He was formerly employed by Colonial Baking Co. as a truck driver. In earlier years, Mr. Snellgrove worked for the City of Headland as a policeman and also in the street department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jo Gamble Snellgrove, a son-in-law, Robert Sayres, and two sisters, Blondell Shirah and Delores Bowling.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Melissa Snellgrove Kirkland (Jerry), Cowarts; a son, Morgan Larry Snellgrove, Webb; a sister, Geraldine Johnson, Andalusia; a sister-in-law, Joan Grooms Gamble, Headland; six grandchildren, Michael Ward (Wanda), Megan Zaleski (Ben), Misty May, Anna Snellgrove, Heather Smith, and Jason Temple; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Zaleski, Will Zaleski, Logan Ward, and Mady Zaleski.
