Obituary: Mr. Allison Rives Poss Sr.

 

Mr. Allison Rives Poss Sr. of Enterprise passed away, Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Enterprise surrounded by his family.  He was 90. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Larry Doster officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, March 7, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Lee Street Baptist Church, 630 East Lee Street, Enterprise, AL 36330. 

Mr. Poss was born April 15, 1926 in Tignall, Georgia to the late Ed and Sarah Rives Poss.  He was a very active member of Lee Street Baptist Church for a number of years.  He was also the owner of  Poss Auto Parts in Enterprise. 

His first wife, Margaret Evelyn Poss and second wife, Sue Hundley Poss preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his son, Rives Poss (Judy), Enterprise; daughter, Gail Hundley Kennedy (Dr. Rick) and family, Dothan; three siblings: Dorothy Gary, Morris, GA, Allene Boyette, Morris, GA, and Hilly Poss (Gladys), Chattahoochee, FL; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
