Mr. Alvynn Wayne Phillips of Samson passed away at his residence on Monday, February 17, 2014. He was 73. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Sam Totten officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Phillips was born in Geneva County, Ala. on January 14, 1941 to the late Levi and Willie Elmore Phillips. He was retired from Fleming Foods where he worked as a forklift operator for many years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Ballard C. Phillips.

He is survived by many caring friends and acquaintances.
