Ben Harold Whitfield, a resident of Dothan died Thursday December 11, 2014 at his residence. He was 61.

 

Memorial services for Mr. Whitfield will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

 

Mr. Whitfield was born December 16, 1952 in Valdosta, Georgia to Harold and Jewel Gilliam Whitfield. He lived most of his life in Miami, Florida and moved to Dothan in 1984. Mr. Whitfield retired from Bell South Communications after 33 years of service and enjoyed fishing and playing music.

 

Survivors include his wife, Frances Whitfield, Dothan; sons, Dax and Beth Whitfield, Birmingham, Dustin Whitfield, Montgomery; daughters, Robyn Harper, Anniston, Denise and Terry Kemp, Montevallo; grandchildren, Chloe and Jackson Whitfield, Rakiya Whitfield, Kristian, Caitlin, Brooke and Dylan Kemp; brother, Gary and Fran Whitfield, Panama City Beach, Florida.
