May 10, 2015 Heaven received another angel. Mr. Benjamin Levon Overstreet of Dothan, Al went to be with the Lord. He was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the Ward Wilson Chapel with his grandsons Reverend Jeremy Overstreet and Reverend Zach Vickery officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Health South in memory of Levon Overstreet P.O. Box 74 Dothan, Al 36302.
Mr. Overstreet was preceded in death by his parents Sam Lindsey and Lena Pearl Overstreet. His brothers Sam Lindsey (Jr) and John (JT) Overstreet. His infant sister Lanie Mae Overstreet and sisters Arvie Lee Harsey, Juanita Allen and Loura Windham.
Mr. Overstreet enjoyed playing his guitar for his wife to sing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy, his sons Jimmy (Tina) Overstreet, Myron (Karen) Overstreet, his daughters Susan (Vince) Vickery, Lisa (Brandon) Baxley all of the Dothan area. He had 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be all of his grandsons, nephew Cliff Overstreet and long time friends James Martin and Bennie Bozeman.
