Mr. Benny Frank McClain of Samson, Alabama passed away suddenly Saturday, February 07, 2015.  He was 60.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Bishop Nelson Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Elba with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will received friends at the funeral home Wednesday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. and continue until service.


Benny was born September 29, 1954, in Coffee County, Alabama to the late R. C. and Marvie Mae Bullard McClain.  He loved the farm life and working in the yards.  For the past 40 years he had worked for Mock Farms.  Benny enjoyed spending time with his special friend “Big Jim” and there was nothing he wouldn’t do to please him.  They loved each other like a brother.  He had a humble heart and was always ready to reach out to anyone in need and he never met a stranger.  Benny dearly loved his children, grandchildren, the rest of his family and all his friends.   He enjoyed going to church and was a faithful member of Good Hope Mt. Olive Community Baptist Church, but also attended Piney Grove Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents, two sisters, Elouise McClain Johnson and Essie Rea McClain, as well as one brother, M.C. McClain preceded him in death.


Survivors include one daughter, Mae Ola McClain of Enterprise and her children, Keith and Kevin Johnson; step daughter, Michelle Edwards of Enterprise and her children, Kezwann and Jordan Edwards and Joshua Butler; six sisters: Listene (Sonny) Kelley, Dorothy Hoosier, Mandy (James) Campbell, Gloria Grooms and Lorene Bradshaw Grooms, all of Enterprise and Arlene (Sylvester) Richardson of Gainesville, FL; four brothers: David McClain of Delta, OH, Randy (Jane) McClain, Ray Charles McClain and Willie Lewis McClain all of Enterprise; loving, extended family: Big Jim and Kitty Mock, Cody Mock, Crystal Reid, Little Jim and Wanda Mock and Charlie Mock, Sr.; several special nieces, nephews, other extended family and a host of friends.
