Mr. Billy Paul Watkins, 88, of Enterprise, AL died on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Flowers Hospital.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 2:30 P.M., in the Family Life Center at the First United Methodist Church of Enterprise with Rev. Tonya Elmore and Rev. Billy Luttrell officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends in the Church Parlor from 1:30 P.M. until service time. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the EFUMC, 301 S. Main Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.


Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his parents, Pleas Anderson Watkins and Estelle Grimsley Watkins; three brothers, Max, Rhett and Rex Watkins.


Mr. Watkins served in the military and spent most of his career in a management capacity in the poultry industry.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Enterprise, where he served as the Sunday school superintendent and also as the church treasurer.  Billy Paul was a graduate of Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) and an avid Auburn fan.  He will be missed dearly but will be remembered fondly as a man of faith and a loving husband, father and grandfather.


Survivors include his wife, Mary Watkins, Enterprise, AL; 2 daughters, Harriet Watkins Giles (Bill), Auburn, AL; Paula Watkins Harris (Rusty), Pensacola, FL; 2 granddaughters, Katherine Davis Giles and Margaret Exley Giles; several nieces and nephews also survive.
