 Mr. Brake Duncan Adkison of Samson, Alabama passed away Thursday, December 06, 2012.  He was 84.


 


Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Sister Wynese Lolley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time.


 


Mr. Adkison was born September 18, 1928, in Hacoda to the late Ralph Fulton and Barbara Alice Welch Adkison.  He loved Samson and lived there for many years.  He had a special place in his heart for everyone in the Samson area.  After several years of service Mr. Adkison retired from Dothan Propane Gas and Appliance as manager.  He always had a joke or funny story to tell even up to the end.  He was a firm believer of treating people as you would like to be treated.


 


In addition to his parents six siblings preceded him in death, Oscar, Roy D., Norman, Hubert, Linnie and Birdie.


 


Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Maxine Spicer Adkison, Samson; one son, Larry Adkison (Rita), Geneva; granddaughter, Ginger Lee (Anthony); great-grandchildren: Emma and Elizabeth Lee, all of Slocomb; step-granddaughter, Rona Hutchison (Ryan), Chattanooga, TN; sister-in-law, Gladys Adkison, Bushnell, FL; special puppy, Chelsey; several special nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.


 


Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Holley, Jeff and David Livingston, Ken Hamilton, Jamy DeBose and Anthony Lee.
