Mr. Calvin C. Dean, of Dothan and formerly of Geneva, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Westside Terrace Nursing Home. He was 90 years old.
The family will receive friends at Ward Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 1 PM until 2 PM with the funeral service following immediately. Mr. Dean’s nephew, Reverend Jimmy Dean will officiate. A private burial will take place in Geneva.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice at 1512 W Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301 or to the charity of your choice.
Mr. Dean was born and raised in Hartford. He proudly served his country in WWII and the Korean War.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Pearl Dean; his first wife, Jacqueline Adair; his second wife, Jean Gamble; two sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by his children, Rhett Dean and Lisa Dean (Ronnie) Parker; his grandchildren, Melanie (Charlie) Grantham, Julie (Bradley) Majors and Derrick Parker; his brother, Lawrence (Carolyn) Dean; a special niece, Carol Dean and many other family members.
The family offers sincere thanks to everyone who helped us take care of Daddy during the last two years.
