Charles David “Sonny” Carmichael, a resident of Dothan died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his residence following an illness. He was 76.

 

Mr. Carmichael was the son of the late Charley and Stella Sowell Carmichael. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Mitchell Carmichael, and children, Donna (Wayne) Johnson and Danny (Gina) Carmichael including five grandchildren, Jonathan Johnson, Jamison Johnson, Daniel Carmichael, Rebecca Carmichael, and David Carmichael and special friend Ethan Malloy.

 

Mr. Carmichael was an independent truck driver and later worked at Bama Truck & Equipment for 25 years. He later retired from Action Truck Center. He enjoyed gardening, fixing anything and family time.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Carmichael will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Clearman Chapel with Reverend Phillip Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Damascus Baptist Church in Graceville, Florida at 2:30 PM with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM Monday, June 2, 2014 at the funeral home.
